So Who is Jae Denise?

You know, I’ve been asking myself that question since I was a child. Always feeling like a chameleon but never really feeling like I completely fit in, I was always adjusting myself depending on my surroundings. My real name is Jaleeza Denise but since the average human tries very little to remember or even pronounce Jaleeza (Ja-Lee-Za – phonetically written exactly as it is pronounced) correctly, I decided to go by Denise. I used to just go by Jae in the athletic world but Denise just kind of stuck after college. So putting those together, I created Jae Denise which fits me perfectly.

Originally, I was born in a small town in Missouri, then moved to Nebraska in high school. As exciting as these places sound, I knew I was missing a cultural diversity in my life. So, I decided to go to Howard for college. For those of you who don’t know, Howard is an HBCU in Washington, DC. It gave me the culture that I never knew I needed. There, I majored in Computer Information Systems and I graduated with a full-time job in IT at Johnson & Johnson. Last year, I decided to leave J&J and come and work for a small healthcare in Florida only to realize that I miss the international aspects of working for an international company. So, here we are….I have been accepted at one of the top International MBA programs in the world located in Barcelona, Spain.

People have always told me that I should start a blog because I have very interesting stories about my life and I thought now is the perfect opportunity!

I decided to start blogging and vlogging for a few different reasons:

  1. I want to be able to look back and have physical evidence of how my life was
  2. To educate and inform people on my life lessons
  3. Explore the creative side of me

I’m on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

Eventually, I plan on creating a monthly newsletter, where I will give brief summaries about what happened during the month and any travel advice that I may have accumulated.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
